Job Overview The University of Florida College of Nursing is seeking Ph.D.-prepared faculty members for full-time, 12‑month, tenure‑track positions as Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.

The role focuses on research and teaching in palliative care, pain and symptom science, bioinformatics, big data & data science, maternal & infant health, and aging.

Location & Work Type Full Time; Main Campus (Gainesville, FL).

This is not a remote or online faculty position.

Key Responsibilities

Research: "Assistant Professor" – advance a defined program of research that leads to extramural funding; "Associate/Full Professor" – maintain a focused, extramurally funded program of research.

Collaborate with and lead interdisciplinary research teams and mentor early‑career faculty commensurate with rank.

Teaching: Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research and teach courses in areas of expertise.

Service: Provide professional service to the college, university, and profession commensurate with rank.

Minimum Requirements

Ph.D. in Nursing or a related discipline from an accredited institution by the hire date.

Eligibility for Florida nursing licensure.

A program of research focused on palliative care, pain and symptom science, bioinformatics, big data & data science, maternal & infant health, and aging.

A sustained record of research and extramural funding commensurate with rank.

A sustained publication record commensurate with rank.

Eligible for appointment at assistant, associate, or full professor rank upon hire, based on research, teaching, and service commensurate with rank.

Preferred Qualifications

For Associate/Full Professors: Demonstrated distinguished record of teaching, research, and service sufficient for tenure.

Experience mentoring doctoral students and early‑career faculty.

Demonstrated commitment to student success and excellence in undergraduate and/or graduate education.

Evidence of leadership in the nursing profession.

Degrees earned outside the U.S. must be evaluated by a professional credentialing service approved by NACES.
