Role Summary The Compliance Specialist is responsible for reviewing affordable housing applications and ensuring they are eligible and compliant with applicable, current regulatory requirements. This position specializes in Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) programs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Review affordable housing resident files for eligibility and compliance with all required laws.

Evaluate files based on information presented by applicants and complete reviews within 24 hours of receipt.

Adhere to all policies and procedures as set forth in the personnel manual.

Monitor changes in LIHTC regulations and implement modifications as required.

Attend TDHCA trainings annually and complete HCCP training within the first two years of employment, passing the exam to receive the HCCP designation.

Participate in all tax credit reviews by outside entities.

Travel up to 50% of work time annually for property visits, conferences, training sessions, or other business‑related activities.

Education & Experience

Strong organizational skills and a detail‑oriented approach.

Proficiency with RealPage OneSite Tax Credit software.

Housing Credit Certified Professional certification is a plus; if not certified, perform HCCP training within the first two years of employment and pass the exam.

Knowledge of HUD programs is a plus.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Work Arrangement This role offers a hybrid arrangement, combining remote work with occasional travel to property locations as needed.
