Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System, Nipton, CA Pay Rate:
$64.19 – $81.08/hr Overview: The Outage Manager will oversee outage and project planning, execution, and performance at the Ivanpah plant, reporting directly to the General Manager. The role focuses on EH&S compliance, team leadership, resource coordination, and process improvement across multiple outages. Key Responsibilities: Lead and ensure EH&S compliance for all project and outage activities. Oversee outage planning, scheduling, and execution. Coordinate with Operations and external stakeholders to manage outage schedules. Track performance metrics, budgets, and resource utilization. Conduct field inspections and enforce accountability. Prepare and present outage readiness reviews and reports. Promote teamwork, communication, and employee development. Share and apply outage best practices across NRG plants. Requirements: 6+ years in power plant outage or project management. HS diploma or GED required. Experience with SAP (work orders, financials, cost reports). Knowledge of PowerSAM, MS Project, Primavera (P6), or similar scheduling tools. Must pass DOT PHMSA pre-employment screening. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field. PMP certification or equivalent. Experience managing plant personnel and contractors. Strong scheduling and leadership skills. Power plant and office setting. Requires valid driver’s license, PC use, and occasional travel. Must be able to wear PPE and work around plant equipment. Seniority level
