Technical Sales Engineer role at Core Group Resources. The Marine Technical Sales Engineer combines technical expertise with customer-focused solutions to serve the maritime and shipbuilding sectors. This role involves applying marine engineering, naval architecture, and shipboard systems knowledge to support shipyards, design firms, and vessel operators. The ideal candidate will leverage their maritime background and technical skills to develop proposals, provide application support, and manage projects that enhance vessel design, retrofit programs, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities
Develop technical documentation, specifications, and proposals for shipbuilding and retrofit projects. Collaborate with naval architects, marine engineers, and shipyard project teams to ensure accurate product selection and regulatory compliance. Deliver technical presentations, conduct system training, and offer application guidance to engineering teams and vessel operators. Support trade shows, shipyard visits, and dockside demonstrations to showcase marine product solutions. Lead designated projects related to new vessel construction and retrofitting, ensuring timely and accurate delivery. Create case studies, schematics, and technical literature demonstrating marine system applications. Assist in developing marine-specific tools, training modules, and digital assets for internal teams. Collect field feedback from ship checks, commissioning, and service calls to identify opportunities for product and process improvement. Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant field. 3 to 7 years of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, or vessel operations. Strong knowledge of shipboard systems, engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications. Ability to interpret complex schematics and analyze product data sheets. Excellent communication skills for engaging with engineers, naval architects, shipyards, and clients. Proficiency with AutoCAD and 3D ship design software (preferred). Skilled in Microsoft 365 suite (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel) and CRM systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365. Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% for client visits, trade shows, and industry events. Must pass background and drug screening; ability to obtain TWIC or similar security clearance. Additional Technical Requirements
Experience with valve automation, piping, and engineered marine systems. Background in shipyard operations, drydocking, or vessel commissioning. Familiarity with ERP systems relevant to maritime industry. Hands-on technical support and application engineering experience within marine environments. Location: Jacksonville, FL. Salary range: $80,000.00-$110,000.00.
