About the Practice
Full Heart Family Therapy is a thriving, values-driven mental health practice located in Ankeny, Iowa. Our team of compassionate clinicians provides integrative, whole-person care for individuals, couples, and families seeking emotional, relational, and spiritual healing. We are currently seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our collaborative and growth-oriented team.
This position offers a unique opportunity to serve both our general client population and participants in our Inner Healing Collaborative, a program that integrates psychotherapy, mindfulness, and emerging approaches such as Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and collaborative treatment planning within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment. The ideal candidate will value a holistic, person-centered approach to care and enjoy working alongside therapists and integrative practitioners to support each client’s full healing journey. Candidates with experience or interest in psychedelic-assisted therapies, including KAP, are strongly encouraged to apply. This is a flexible schedule position and opportunities for professional collaboration and growth.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments.
Provide ongoing medication management with an emphasis on collaboration and whole-person wellness.
Coordinate care with therapists and other members of the Inner Healing Collaborative to support integrated treatment planning.
Participate in team case consultations and contribute to a culture of compassionate, heart-centered collaboration.
Educate clients about medications, side effects, and holistic wellness strategies.
Maintain timely and compliant clinical documentation in the electronic health record.
Support clients involved in KAP or other integrative healing modalities through trauma-informed and relationally sensitive care.
Stay current with advances in psychopharmacology, integrative psychiatry, and psychedelic-assisted treatment research.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing with certification as a
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) .
Active and unrestricted
Iowa state license
and prescriptive authority.
Minimum of
2 years’ experience
providing psychiatric evaluation and medication management to adults.
Strong interest in or experience with
integrative and holistic approaches
to mental health treatment.
Training or willingness to pursue training in
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)
or related modalities.
Comfort working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary clinical team.Experience supporting clients with trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, and complex relational concerns.
