Full-Time About Wellness Coach Wellness Coach is a global AI-powered wellness platform that inspires and engages workforces through personalized wellness offerings. We offer Challenges, Coaching, Rewards, Next Generation EAP, Weight Management, and Disease Management to support overall health. Description As Controller, you’ll be the financial backbone of Wellness Coach, owning the integrity, timeliness, and scalability of our accounting operations as we grow. You’ll lead the monthly close, revenue recognition for B2B SaaS, audit readiness, and process automation while building tight cross-functional partnerships with Sales, Customer Success and RevOps. Current stack you’ll own & scale: QuickBooks Online, Chargebee + Stripe for billing/payments, Gusto for payroll, Brex (expenses/corporate cards) Responsibilities
Own the Close & Controls:
drive a fast, accurate monthly close process (
ASC 606 Revenue Recognition (SaaS):
translate B2B contracts (multi-year, seat/usage-based, minimums) into compliant revenue schedules, deferrals, and amortization within QBO + Chargebee. Billing, Collections & AR Quality:
oversee accurate invoicing (milestones, co-terms, renewals), credit notes, and collections. Establish DSO targets and aging dashboards; partner with Sales/CS to resolve disputes and reduce leakage. Systems & Automation (QBO-centric):
keep QuickBooks Online as the system of record while hardening integrations with Chargebee, Stripe, Brex, HubSpot, Gusto. Reduce manual JEs, strengthen data flows, and implement close checklists, PBC binders, and recurring automation. Cash, Treasury & Compliance:
manage cash forecasting, vendor terms, and banking. Coordinate federal/state/local taxes (including multi-state sales & use tax nexus), 1099s, and international contractor compliance. Payroll & HR:
Own payroll via Gusto (US employees/contractors) ensure proper expensing, benefits accruals, PTO liabilities, and equity/option accounting workflows with external support as needed. Contractors & Global Footprint:
oversee international contractor payments and compliance. Cost Accounting & Unit Economics:
build gross margin reporting by product line (Coaching, EAP, etc.); track COGS (cloud, content, support) and clarify fully-loaded contribution margins. Pricing, Commissions & RevOps Partnership:
operationalize pricing/discount guardrails, oversee commission plans and accruals, and align with HubSpot on pipeline hygiene, bookings, and renewal metrics (NRR/GRR, churn logos/ARR). Board & Exec Reporting:
deliver monthly finance packs (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow), and SaaS KPIs (ARR/MRR, CAC payback, LTV/CAC, magic number, runway). Provide variance narratives and scenario models to inform hiring and GTM investments. What success looks like

100% ASC 606 compliance with clear SOPs; no surprise reversals; real-time ARR/MRR dashboards. Cash excellence:

Experience:
7–10+ years in accounting/controllership, including B2B SaaS; CPA required or active candidate. Technical depth:
Mastery of US GAAP, multi-element arrangements, commissions capitalization, foreign currency basics, and consolidations. Systems chops:
Hands-on ownership of QuickBooks Online (must-have), Chargebee + Stripe, Gusto, Brex, and CRM integrations (HubSpot preferred). Operator mindset:
You love clean reconciliations, airtight documentation, and closing quickly, while automating the repetitive work. SaaS metrics fluency:
Comfortable building KPI packs (ARR/MRR bridges, GRR/NRR, CAC payback, magic number), cohort analyses, and variance narratives. Communication & partnership:
