Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously, assist guests with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend additional items, apply selling behaviors in every transaction, and thank guests for shopping at GameStop. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system, including handling payments, bagging merchandise, and providing receipts with top-notch guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits (e.g., new title reservations, trade-in program, Pro Rewards loyalty). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed; ensure alignment with company and store guest service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; document written feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure associates know policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethical responsibilities. Schedule store associates following guidelines; supervise staffing to maintain optimal guest service. Approve payroll and manage paid time off; ensure accurate timekeeping and timely payments. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are functioning properly. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect company assets through effective inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing and address concerns with the Store Manager. Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete administrative duties. Perform inventory counts and restock merchandise; ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor. Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions in the POS; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits as directed. Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and report discrepancies to management. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain guest and associate safety; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to sales associates in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all company policies and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct; follow opening and closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills and Abilities
Outgoing and welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine and individualized assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and work independently or as part of a team. Meet performance expectations including attendance, safety, and respectful workplace. Operate POS system and perform basic mathematics and alphabetizing. Prepare required paperwork and follow instructions as given. Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability. Work safely and responsibly; handle pressure and solve problems creatively. Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work alone or in a team; stand and move for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs as needed.
