Designer job at Alexandra Grecco. New York, NY. Alexandra Grecco Bridal is seeking a talented designer to support its development team. This role will work closely with the existing team, including the Lead Designer and Creative Director. This individual will be responsible for conceptualizing and executing fresh and innovative design for the main collection as well as demi-couture and custom pieces. Responsibilities

Design and develop pieces for main collections and custom clients that align with the brand vision and quality standards Create original sketches, technical drawings, patterns, prototypes and final samples Work closely with the Creative Director and Lead Designer on research and the development of various samples through draping, patternmaking, textile manipulation and various exploratory techniques Collaborate with the team on fabric sourcing and development of custom materials, communicating directly with fabric and embroidery mills as needed Prepare for fittings by cross examining fit samples against patterns, tech packs and previous sample fit notes to ensure the proper corrections have been made Participate in fittings, ensuring the desired fit, construction and details are accurately realized throughout the development and production process Develop clear and comprehensive tech packs, corresponding with factories and vendors to ensure all styles are within spec requirements Update tech packs with up-to-date information for BOM, construction templates, etc. as needed Manage post-development and pre-production process, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure designs are successfully executed within established timelines and budgets Maintain attention to detail and high quality standards throughout the development process, from initial concept to final sample. Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or Certification in Apparel Manufacturing, Design, Patternmaking, or equivalent Minimum of 4+ years of experience in apparel industry, preferably in luxury womenswear, bridal, eveningwear and/or couture In-depth knowledge patternmaking, draping, measuring, garment construction, grading, factory production Ability to sketch and effectively illustrate design ideas Gerber / CAD system knowledge is a plus Photoshop / Procreate knowledge is a plus Ability to analyze workload, plan accordingly and effectively prioritize workload, tasks and follow up To apply
