Payments Governance Advisor, Risk Manager - Hybrid
The Enterprise Payments Governance and Oversight (EPGO) team is seeking a dynamic Manager-level Payments Governance Advisor who will play a role in continuing to provide effective end-to-end payments oversight and risk management across Capital One. The EPGO team sits within the Enterprise Payments organization in the Retail Bank. This team is tasked with executing governance and oversight of both intent and execution of payments strategy, operations, and risk management for the payment types utilized across the enterprise. In this role, you will be at the forefront of payments risk management, supporting solutions to remediate some of the biggest payments-related challenges while also building upon existing business‑as‑usual practices. In this role, you will partner with Senior Leaders and stakeholders across Operations, Risk Management, Product, and other key areas to support the execution of governance forums, delivering insights on the health of the end‑to‑end payment types, monitoring payments related issue and events, including escalation to Senior Leaders as appropriate, and helping drive critical initiatives directly tied to current and future priorities of the Enterprise Payments organization. Partner with stakeholders to develop monthly, quarterly and annual reporting on payment type operational performance, risk management, and key initiatives impacting payments Monitor payments‑related issues, events, and risks to drive insights on the health of the payment type and identify opportunities for risk mitigation Management of E2E payments use case inventory and supporting lines of business in demonstrating adherence to payment risk policy & standards Engage in payments‑related projects and process initiatives to support governance and oversight activities Ideal Candidate

This role is hybrid, where you will be expected to spend 3 days per week working in the office and the remainder of the week working virtually. Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification At least 3 years of experience in risk management, audit or governance At least 4 years experience in the banking or financial industry At least 2 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal and external stakeholders At least 2 years of experience using Google Suite or Microsoft Office Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience At least 5 years of experience in risk management At least 5 years of project management experience leading cross‑functional projects and programs At least 3 years of experience managing senior stakeholders At least 3 years of experience working in payments At least 3 years of people leadership experience At least 3 years of process management experience Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) certification or Accredited Payments Risk Professional (APRP) certification At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position. McLean, VA: $146,100 - $166,700 Richmond, VA: $132,800 - $151,600 Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
