Senior Design Engineer -- Plastics

to join their team. This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative, growth-focused environment where your technical skills and leadership will drive the development of cutting-edge products for diverse industries. Must have expertise in plastics design and tooling. Key Responsibilities

Lead complex design projects from concept through launch, focusing on plastic components using injection molding and structural foam techniques. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, test, and refine new and existing products. Provide expert guidance in plastic part design, processing, and tooling, including reviews with third-party tool designers. Prepare and release detailed design packages, bills of material, and engineering change notices. Develop and execute test plans, including third-party certifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards (Telcordia, TIA, SCTE, FOA, etc.). Analyze product data to ensure alignment with design criteria, cost targets, and standardized practices. Drive root cause analysis and implement solutions for non-conformances. Maintain and upgrade existing product lines, supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of innovation and excellence. Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus. 10+ years of hands-on design experience in plastics (injection molding, structural foam molding). Strong understanding of tooling design and collaboration with external tool designers. Familiarity with industry standards and related testing (Telcordia, TIA, SCTE, FOA, etc.). Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively. Proficiency in CREO and Windchill is highly preferred. Experience with FEA (stress, creep, compression) using CREO Simulate or Ansys. Knowledge of FRP composite design, fiber optics, and related measurement tools. Experience with Product Life Cycle Management, RCA, and 3D printing. Familiarity with MS Project, Visio, and Microsoft Office Suite. Compensation and Benefits

Compensation Range:

$100,000 - $130,000 Benefits Offered:
