Overview
Information Technology Manager role description. The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing all management information systems across the organization, including ERP and manufacturing systems, VOIP communications, LIMS, maintenance, warehouse/inventory systems, and cybersecurity infrastructure. The role leads and manages the IT program, leveraging internal and external resources to ensure systems remain secure, up to date, and optimized for user performance and efficiency. Primary Responsibilities
Conduct all IT-related activities with safety and compliance as top priorities.
Actively participate in company safety initiatives and lead by example.
Develop and execute strategic IT improvements to enhance system reliability, security, and user experience.
Provide leadership and technical guidance to IT staff to maintain optimal system functionality and uptime.
Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure effective system support, security updates, and project execution.
Oversee IT infrastructure, including network operations, system upgrades, and data protection measures.
Apply strong project management discipline to plan, budget, execute, test, and complete IT initiatives successfully.
Drive continuous improvement and ensure alignment between IT capabilities and business goals.
Qualifications
Required
— Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
7–10 years of progressive experience in IT management or related technical leadership roles
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
Preferred
— MBA or advanced degree in Business or Computer Science (or a related discipline)
Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
