Base pay: $15.50/hr. Actual pay based on skill and experience. Job Description
Days: 7 am - 3 pm. Full-time, 37.5 hours, requires every other weekend rotation. Provide assistance in all housekeeping functions as directed. Must treat resident and institutional information as confidential. This position is urgently needed. Specific Responsibilities
Clean and disinfect all surface areas in the building, including furniture, wheelchairs, floors, walls, and glass. Put out supplies for wings: paper goods, linens, soaps, etc. Assist in training new housekeeping employees. Attend required in-service training meetings throughout the year. Attend departmental meetings when required. Demonstrate awareness and concern for patient comfort and safety. Work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis as scheduled. Replenish cleaning supplies daily. Clean patient rooms daily. Clean toilets, commodes, sinks, mirrors, pipes daily. Dust, mop, or vacuum floors daily. Pick up and empty waste paper baskets twice daily, morning and evening. Process beds each Monday and Tuesday with germicidal cleanser or dusting. Dust light fixtures, clean air conditioners, window sills, grooves each Wednesday. Spot‑check walls for dirty spots in patient rooms, toilets, corridors daily. Clean and wash baseboards as required. Dust all pictures, bulletin boards, and other hanging objects at least once per week. Clean utility rooms, Special Care room, Nurse's stations, T.V. Lounges, etc. daily. Damp clean low ledges around building, nursing stations, T.V. rooms, fire extinguishers as needed. Replenish supplies such as paper towels, toilet tissue, cups, and soap dispensers daily. Keep housekeeping closet clean and tidy. Clean and vacuum patient dining room daily. Clean and wet mop employee dining room daily. Vacuum all offices, empty waste paper baskets, and clean/dust all office furniture daily. Clean, dust, empty wastebaskets, mop, and wet mop Activity room, Physical Therapy room, Restrooms, Public Restrooms, front lobby daily. Working Conditions
Well‑lighted, well‑ventilated work area. Stands and walks short distances most of the work day. Subject to cold and hot temperatures in kitchens and storerooms. Subject to burns, cuts, and falls. Lifting, carrying, and moving food, supplies, and equipment. Qualifications
Ability to follow oral and written orders in English. High degree of personal cleanliness and hygiene. Sense of responsibility. Ability to work in close cooperation with others. Previous experience in dietary or housekeeping work is helpful. Application
