Purpose and Scope Teach Emergency Medical Services courses to facilitate student learning. Plan, develop, and deliver courses each semester in accordance with curriculum objectives.

Essential Job Functions

Teach EMS courses at various times and locations.

Create engaging lessons promoting student involvement.

Submit required college reports and forms promptly.

Maintain course syllabus in line with institutional guidelines.

Meet and advise students through class or other methods.

Evaluate student progress and communicate results.

Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.

Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Mastery of course content.

Leadership and collaborative teaching skills.

Excellent oral and written communication.

Adequate appreciation of diverse viewpoints.

Interest in interdisciplinary teaching, service learning, adult learning methodologies.

Ability to develop instructional approaches, including technology integration.

Effective strategies to engage students in learning.

Physical Abilities Requires physical exertion such as climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 pounds, crouching or crawling in restricted areas, and defending against physical attacks.

Work Schedule And Conditions

Use of PC workstation, calculator, phone, and specialized equipment as needed.

Interact with internal and external contacts as necessary.

Work in a climate-controlled classroom/lab with typical safety hazards.

Flexible hours based on class schedule; available outside of instruction for student needs.

Required Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) or related field, or Bachelor’s degree with 3 years non‑teaching experience and certification/registration as a paramedic.

Salary $59.80 per contact hour.
