Lemoore College – Athletics Department Assistant Coach - Women’s Wrestling (Temporary Employment) · Compensation: $1,000 - $10,000 per semester. Compensation is determined in alignment with the Adult Salary Schedule and is based on the responsibilities assigned by the Head Coach, with final approval from the Director of Athletics. Position Duties Summary Under the direction of the Director of Athletics and the Head Coach, assists the Head Coach with the assigned intercollegiate sport. Assistant Coach I – Essential Duties And Responsibilities Advise and instruct students on the theory and practice of the assigned sport. Coach is only responsible for coaching at practice and during games. Assist and support the Academic Success Program. Assist with recruiting. Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of this position. Assistant Coach II – Essential Duties And Responsibilities Advise and instruct students on theory and practice of the assigned sport. Remain current in theory, coaching, and the subject matter and technique of effective instruction through participation in professional development. Coach is only responsible for coaching at practice and during games. Assist and support the Academic Success Program. Assist with recruiting. Assist with conditioning and weight training programs. Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of this position. Assistant Coach III – Essential Duties And Responsibilities Assist in the assigned intercollegiate sport and physical education courses. Advise and instruct students on theory and practice of the assigned sport. Assist in building strong relations with the community and the athletic department. Assist student athletes in completing required academics and transferring to a four-year institution. Remain current in theory, coaching, and the subject matter and technique of effective instruction through participation in professional development. Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of this position. Qualifications

Assistant Coach I Qualifications Knowledge and Skills Requires interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy. Requires the skill to work with constant interruptions. Abilities Requires the ability to work with diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, cultural, disability, and religious backgrounds of community college students. Ability to communicate clearly with students and staff, both orally and in writing. Requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and community organizations. Physical Abilities Requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to heavy weights of up to 75 pounds regularly. Requires the ability to push, pull, and guide materials over 75 pounds. Requires the ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch regularly. Requires near and far visual acuity to read printed materials, move objects, and observe work-in-progress. Requires speaking and hearing to carry on ordinary conversations. Requires the ability to reach overhead above the shoulders and horizontally. Requires sufficient arm, hand, and finger dexterity to use a computer keyboard and other office equipment. Education and Experience High School Diploma or the equivalent and three years of coaching experience. Licenses and Certificates Require a valid driver’s license. Requires CPR and First Aid certification. Working Conditions Work is performed indoors and outdoors (athletic field, classroom, and virtual classroom environment), where some safety considerations exist. Physical contact with athletes. The position requires knowledge of basic filing and record retention requirements and procedures. Requires the ability to use a computer and common office software. Requires sufficient knowledge of the English language, grammar, spelling, and punctuation to prepare routine correspondence and internal memoranda. Abilities Requires the ability to work with diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, cultural, disability, and religious backgrounds of community college students. Ability to implement contemporary teaching methods and technologies. Ability to communicate clearly with students and staff, both orally and in writing. Requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and community organizations. Ability to instruct and evaluate students effectively in the classroom. Ability to demonstrate commitment to professional growth and development through memberships in regional, state, and national organizations or other activities appropriate to the discipline or assignment. Physical Abilities Requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to heavy weights of up to 75 pounds regularly.
