Join the GameStop team as a Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 7850). This role supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations, develops a sales culture, and provides outstanding guest service experiences through professional conduct and passion for gaming. The Assistant Store Manager supervises Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests promptly; respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously; assist with video gaming needs; inform guests of promotions; recommend additional items; apply selling behaviors during every transaction; circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests. Support the shopping environment, including visual/operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that drive sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns using POS; handle transactions accurately, provide receipts, and maintain top-notch guest service. Respond to guest questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop guest benefits (e.g., title reservations, trade-in, Pro Rewards). Assist in setting guest service expectations for associates and train them on company policies and guidelines. Observe performance, provide feedback to the Store Manager, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document written feedback in Workday/HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding and training are completed prior to openings/closings; knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethics. Schedule store associates with adherence to guidelines; supervise staffing to maintain high guest service. Approve payroll, manage time off, and verify payments. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per company guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment function properly. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ensure daily shipping. Protect company assets via inventory control and loss prevention; conduct bag/package checks at closing as appropriate; report concerns to the Store Manager. Support the team in meeting/exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative duties. Conduct inventory counts, restock merchandise, and maintain organized shelves and fixtures. Balance and reconcile daily POS transactions; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits as required. Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct merchandise counts and report discrepancies. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately with proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to GameStop policies and conduct guidelines. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field. Retail management experience: 6 months preferred; retail sales/guest service/management experience: 2+ years preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Job Skills and Abilities
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine and individualized guest assistance. Clear verbal/written communication; English proficiency; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; work independently and as part of a team.
