Under general supervision of:

Head Coach, Athletic Director and Principal.

Essential Functions

Assist head coach in scheduling, providing transportation to tournaments and special sport events.

Assist in preparation for scheduled sport events or practices and adheres to scheduled facility times. Coordinate program with maintenance and school employees.

Provide the athletic director with documentation necessary to fulfill school, district, and state requirements concerning physical examinations, parental consent and eligibility.

Maintain equipment: collect cost of lost equipment, arrange issuance, marking and storage, submit inventory and current records, and coordinate with the equipment manager.

Monitor locker rooms, equipment room, training room, and coaches' offices; authorize access and secure all doors, lights, windows and locks before leaving.

Instill respect for equipment, school property and proper use.

Maintain discipline and work to increase morale and cooperation within the school sports program and school community.

Implement athletic policies approved by the Governing Board; understand and apply district, state and regional regulations.

Follow proper administrative line of command and refer all student/parent requests or grievances through proper channels; attend required meetings.

Required Qualifications

Current, valid Arizona Level One IVP fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona DPS.

Valid Arizona driver's license with clean driving record.

Ability and willingness to drive a small van to transport students to athletic events.

Coaching and/or playing experience in assigned sport.

Knowledge and background in assigned sport.

Professional development activities in pedagogy and methodology of the assigned sport.

Must be CPR certified prior to second full season.

Supervisory Control

Supervises athletes and team assigned; assumes supervisory control over all athletes in program when such control is needed.

Job Goal To carry out the aims and objectives of the sport program as outlined by the head coach and school administration, and to instruct athletes in individual and team fundamentals, strategy and physical training necessary to realize a degree of individual and team success.
