for a Japanese style Bar & Lounge located in The Watermark Hotel in Tysons Corner, VA. This role is well suited for an individual that has previously worked in a trendy, cocktail bar/upsized restaurant and boutique hotel setting.

The 300‑unit Watermark Hotel – Tysons is an upscale, all‑suite facility with a chef‑driven restaurant, cocktail bar, outdoor patios, 1,600 square feet of meeting space and a breakfast café. The property is owned by Capital One Financial and operated by the B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group.

Under the guidance and supervision of Senior Management and within the policies and procedures established by B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group, the Server is to follow instructions and execute assignments as per the standards provided, but not limited to. This position is responsible for serving food and beverages to guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner. Adheres to all health regulations and local liquor laws, ensures exceptional guest service and creates an inviting atmosphere, and follows B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group and brand standards of quality to ensure guest satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Greet guests and take food and beverage orders, utilizing suggestive/up‑selling techniques.

Retrieve and serve alcoholic, non‑alcoholic beverages and meals to guests courteously and efficiently according to restaurant specifications.

Input orders accurately.

Collect and process payments.

Assist in the maintenance of the restaurant area and supplies.

Have knowledge and understanding of the menu and be able to answer questions regarding ingredients and allergens.

Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy, prioritize and organize.

Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all restaurant policies and standard of service.

Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.

Be familiar with all B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.

Complete all side work before the doors open.

If needed, assist with escorting guests to tables and assist in seating at tables.

Notify a manager whenever a guest is/expresses or appears unhappy/upset/disgruntled in any way.

Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity and hours of operation, menus, price range and dress code of B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group.

Inspect the condition and cleanliness of menus and wine lists; ensure designated amounts are available. Update menus and wine list as changes occur.

Touch tables, build out and return clientele.

Other duties and tasks deemed necessary by management.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

Internal: Talent in restaurant, assist bar, and all other F&B areas, Culinary/Stewarding, Storeroom/Purchasing, Accounting and HR.

External: B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group guests and visitors, equipment repair personnel and liquor suppliers.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Qualifications Essential

Provide legible communication.

Compute basic arithmetic.

2 years’ experience in a similar position dealing with the public.

Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy, prioritize and organize.

Follow directions thoroughly.

Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment.

Work cohesively with co‑workers as part of a team.

Work with minimal supervision.

Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent restaurant data.

Provide clear, pleasant telephone communication with proper grammar.

Certificates

The State of Virginia requires all employees who handle food and liquor to have a Food Handler and Responsible Vendor Certificate. Therefore, this certificate is a requirement for employment at B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group.

All expenses incurred to obtain the certificate or to renew it are the responsibility of the employee. This certificate is necessary to work at any restaurant and is not for the exclusive use of B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group.

Physical Abilities

Exert physical effort in transporting up to 20 pounds.

Endure various physical movements throughout the work area.

Remain in a stationary position for up to 4 hours throughout the work shift.

Required to stand, stoop; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel, lift, reach with hands and arms; talk to hear and taste or smell.

Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat. Work near moving mechanical parts.

Outdoor weather conditions.

Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Language Skills – Ability to read, write and speak in English is needed to successfully accomplish the essential duties of this job.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before employees of the Company.
