Position Summary The Data Architect will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise data architecture with a strong focus on Ellucian Banner ERP systems. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Banner database structures and tables, ensuring data integrity, performance, and interoperability across institutional applications and data warehouses.

Key Responsibilities

Design and maintain enterprise data architecture supporting institutional reporting, analytics, and integrations.

Analyze and document Ellucian Banner data models, tables, and relationships to support data-driven initiatives.

Support data warehouse design and integration with reporting tools such as Cognos, Power BI, or Tableau.

Provide technical documentation and training to support end users and IT staff.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master's preferred).

5+ years of experience in data architecture, database design, or data engineering.

Hands‑on experience with Ellucian Banner tables, data schema, and ERP integrations.

Familiarity with reporting and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, etc.).

Understanding of data governance, data modeling (ER/Dimensional), and metadata management.

Knowledge of student information systems (SIS) and higher education data standards is a plus.

Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Preferred Experience

Experience in higher education, with knowledge of Student Information Systems (SIS), Finance, and HR.

Experience with large-scale ERP platforms, particularly Ellucian's ecosystem.

Strong technical background in solution delivery and data architecture.

Expertise in data governance, data management, and data engineering.

Exceptional communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
