Under the general direction of the Supervising Transportation Engineer, Caltrans (North County Corridors Project Director), the Senior Transportation Engineer, Caltrans functions as a Senior Design Manager responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the design and delivery of transportation projects. This role manages and monitors project scope, schedule, budget, and quality, ensures compliance with design standards, policies, and project development processes and procedures, and supervises a team of engineering staff. In addition, the incumbent may serve as a Task Manager for specific design activities, a Project Manager for various types of projects, and a Contract Manager for consultant contracts. Special Requirements
This position requires possession of a valid certificate of registration as a Civil Engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers. Possession of a valid driverds license is required to operate a state-owned or leased vehicle. Statements Of Qualifications (SOQ) and Application Instructions

Describe your experience communicating technical information to diverse audiences, making presentations, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and solving conflicts. Describe your knowledge and application of project development processes, standards, policies, and practices in delivering complex transportation projects. Use specific examples. Describe your experience analyzing complex and sensitive issues, recommending effective courses of action, and balancing competing constraints and objectives to successfully deliver large, complex programs in a timely and cost-effective manner.
