Job Description As a Security Officer - Access Control Specialist in Parma, ID, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal you will monitor and patrol designated chemical and petrochemical locations to help create a secure environment. Your responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and delivering exceptional customer service through clear communication. Position Type: Full Time
Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour
Job Schedule: Mon 10:00 PM – 06:00 AM, Fri 10:00 PM – 06:00 AM, Sat 10:00 PM – 06:00 AM, Sun 10:00 PM – 06:00 AM
What You’ll Do
Monitor and control access to restricted areas within a chemical or petrochemical location, verifying credentials and logging entries and exits as required by site procedures.
Assist with visitor and contractor management, including checking identification and issuing access credentials in accordance with site-specific policies.
Conduct regular and random patrols of the premises, including perimeters, to help deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols and reporting to the appropriate personnel.
Provide customer service by answering questions and assisting employees, visitors, and contractors with directions and information related to access control procedures.
Observe and report any irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
Support emergency response activities as directed, including assisting with evacuations and communicating important information to relevant parties.
Complete required documentation and logs accurately, maintaining records of activities, incidents, and security‑related events as required by Allied Universal policies and site‑specific procedures.
Minimum Requirements
Be at least 21 years of age (18 or more for unarmed roles; 21 or more for armed roles).
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Will be subject to background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
Will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
