Responsibilities

Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store.

Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.

Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/return transactions using POS system, including correct changes, bagging, providing receipts, and ensuring top notch guest service.

Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.

Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, e.g., new title reservations program, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards loyalty program.

Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations for store associates and training them in company policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines.

Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed, ensuring alignment with service expectations.

Provide recognition and feedback to all store associates, with written feedback entered into the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager.

Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training for associates prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethical responsibilities.

Schedule store associates, manage breaks and meals, and supervise staffing to maintain guest service quality.

Approve payroll and ensure accurate payment of time worked.

Maintain store cleanliness and organization, and ensure fixtures and equipment are in good working order.

Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ship daily.

Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices; conduct checks at closing as appropriate.

Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative and operational duties.

Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor.

Balance daily transactions in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and manage cash and deposits according to procedures.

Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and report discrepancies to the Store Manager/District Manager.

Process defective/recalls and stock pulls accurately with proper labeling and packing lists.

Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines.

Assist in maintaining store records/files and keep manuals up to date.

Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders when the Store Manager is not available.

Adhere to all company policies and procedures and to opening and closing procedures.

Qualifications

Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.

Must be at least 18 years old.

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.

At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.

At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.

Video game knowledge preferred.

Reliability, trustworthiness, and good judgment.

Ability to stand and move for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs; reach and perform basic physical tasks.

Knowledge or onboarding related to military ranks/insignia for stores located on military bases (if applicable).

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation: $10.75 - $14.75 per hour.

Benefits: Full-time store positions are eligible for incentive programs, 401(k), paid time off, dental, vision, and health insurance. Bonus eligibility or other incentives may apply.
