Job Summary
As the Environmental Services Technician, you will keep all areas of the hospital clean and sanitized to protect individuals from potential infectious diseases or other hazards. You will be responsible for executing the daily duties required to establish and maintain a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment. While executing the assigned responsibilities, the EVS Tech will have contact and interactions with patients, visitors, and clinical and non‑clinical staff. You must ensure timely room turnovers related to patient throughput within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. The environmental services technician, in accordance with organizational standards of quality, is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention and patient experience.
Responsibilities
Complete daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, equipment, and other common areas as assigned.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of health‑care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements, and safely use chemicals and equipment.
Follow all infection prevention practices, including proper cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, and proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Remove waste and transport it to the appropriate disposal area while identifying proper waste‑stream handling (e.g., regulated medical, recycle, solid, hazardous) in accordance with procedures and regulations.
Maintain cleaning carts, supplies, and equipment as outlined in the Standard Work cart set‑up.
Perform additional tasks as needed, such as conference‑room setups, stairwell and elevator cleaning, and hanging of cubicle curtains.
Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Previous healthcare experience

Pay Range $18.00 - $22.75 /hour
