High School ELA Teacher (Immediate Need)
We are looking for a motivated, mission‑aligned individual to join Nuasin Next Generation Charter School and provide the scholars and families of the Highbridge section of the Bronx with a truly excellent education. We seek educators who believe in our scholars' talent and intellectual capabilities and who are excited to ignite deep intellectual engagement through problem‑solving, critical thinking, and a robust understanding of content.
Salary: $69,998.00–$100,000.00 (dependent on experience, education, and certifications). The role is located in New York City.
Responsibilities
Design curriculum to meet state standards.
Master knowledge of English Language Arts and adapt lesson plans as needed for differing learning levels.
Prepare engaging classroom activities and supplemental materials.
Observe student performance, record progress, and report observations to parents and administrators.
Plan and instruct lessons; assess student abilities, strengths, and weaknesses.
Grade assignments and exams.
Communicate with parents about student progress.
Provide individualized support to challenge and improve student abilities.
Prepare students for state‑required standardized tests.
Develop and enforce classroom rules and administrative policies.
Supervise students outside the classroom, e.g., during lunch or detention.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in education.
New York Teaching certification.
Supervised classroom experience.
