Overview We’re seeking a highly technical and hands‑on ServiceNow Technical Architect to lead the implementation of our ServiceNow platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the architectural design, integration, and implementation of ServiceNow solutions that align with specific business needs and ensure technology supports business goals. This role will concentrate on the architectural, integration, and governance aspects of the platform, collaborating closely with internal engineering teams and implementation vendors, and reporting to the Applications Manager.
Education & Certification Requirements Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree and have at least 8 years of experience in enterprise IT architecture, with a minimum of 4 to 5 years focused on ServiceNow.

Onsite Requirements This role is a hybrid opportunity based in McLean, VA.
Responsibilities
Lead architecture design across ServiceNow modules (ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, CSM, integrations).
Design and oversee integrations using REST, SOAP, eventing, and middleware/API strategies.
Define and enforce platform governance, standards, coding practices, and version management.
Oversee CMDB design, reconciliation, discovery processes, and data model integrity.
Collaborate with development teams to review code, ensure quality, optimize performance, and guide complex technical decisions.
Support upgrades, platform health monitoring, performance tuning, and technical debt management.
Provide technical mentorship to developers and engineers working on ServiceNow.
Work with cross‑functional technical stakeholders (cloud, networking, security) to align architectural decisions.
Document architectural decisions, maintain architecture artifacts, and propose technical roadmaps.
Assist with solution design in proofs‑of‑concept, technical spikes, and architectural assessments.
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in enterprise IT architecture, with at least 4 to 5 years focused on ServiceNow.
Deep, hands‑on experience in ServiceNow modules (preferably ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, CSM, discovery).
Strong expertise with integrations (REST, SOAP, web services, APIs).
Solid experience in CMDB, data modeling, discovery, and reconciliation logic.
Ability to design for scalability, performance, and maintainability.
Experience with platform upgrades, scripting (JavaScript, Flow Designer, etc.).
Strong debugging, monitoring, and performance tuning skills.
Familiarity with cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, or similar).
Excellent written communication skills for architecture documentation and technical design.
Track record of mentoring or guiding development teams.
Desired Skills
Certified Technical Architect or Certified Master Architect certification.
ServiceNow certification as a System Administrator, Implementor, or Architect.
Agile or SAFe certifications.
ITIL Foundation or higher (e.g., ITIL v4).
