Job description We’re looking for a
Mechanical Designer / Mechanical Architect
to join our team and contribute to cutting‑edge projects in
water and wastewater treatment systems . This position is
on‑site in Toronto & GTA
or
remote if you’re in Virginia (US) .
As a Mechanical Designer/ Mechanical Architect, you’ll play a key role in developing 3D designs for complex equipment, working closely within a multidisciplinary team. You’ll bring ideas to life through accurate 3D and 2D CAD documentation for systems including general arrangements, skid or module assemblies, fabrication details, and piping layouts.
Responsibilities
Generate accurate 3D CAD drawings
Produce 2D fabrication and spool drawings, and create Bills of Materials
Collaborate proactively across disciplines, addressing technical and scheduling challenges
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or CAD Design
5+ years of CAD design experience (or equivalent)
Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS (Routing, Weldments) and/or AutoCAD Plant 3D
Experience in Balance of Plant (BOP) or skid design for water/wastewater plants
Strong knowledge of drafting standards
Ability to work independently and solve complex problems
Mentorship mindset – supporting and guiding junior designers
Nice to have
Background in water treatment, manufacturing lines, or treatment line design
Experience with Revit/BIM
Background in Food & Beverage, Municipal, or Industrial sectors
CSWP certification
