We are looking for a Water Mitigation Technician! A water mitigation technician assesses water damage, removes water and damaged materials, and uses specialized equipment like air movers and dehumidifiers to dry and sanitize affected areas. You will also perform demolition, document their work for insurance purposes, and communicate with clients and project managers to ensure the property is restored to a pre-loss condition.
Damage assessment:
Inspect and assess the extent of water damage to determine the scope of work.
Water extraction:
Remove standing water using pumps, wet vacuums, and other extraction equipment.
Demolition and removal:
Take out damaged materials like drywall, flooring, and insulation.
Drying and dehumidification:
Set up and monitor specialized equipment, such as air movers and dehumidifiers, to dry the affected areas.
Cleaning and sanitization:
Clean and sanitize affected areas to prevent mold growth and further contamination.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including photos and equipment readings, for insurance claims.
Customer service:
Communicate with clients, providing updates and reassurance throughout the restoration process.
Equipment maintenance:
Operate, maintain, and clean job site equipment and company vehicles.
Safety compliance:
Follow all safety guidelines and company policies.
Requirements
Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (often up to 50-75 pounds) and work in tight spaces, crawl spaces.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Knowledge of water damage restoration techniques, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and overtime when necessary.
