Staff Hardware Design Engineer

Introduction

The ideal candidate would have a passion for developing board-level analog / RF, and digital hardware designs. You will be tasked with the design, analysis and hands-on integration and testing of complex RF circuitry and subsystems, plus providing technical support for the product.
Responsibilities
- Develop block diagrams of potential hardware design concepts from high level requirements.
- Perform part selection and schematic entry for analog/RF/digital circuit designs
- Lead the RF/Microwave circuit and sub-system design, component analysis, modeling, simulation, prototyping and integration.
- Provide guidance on parts placement and critical routing
- Troubleshoot prototype and production hardware in the lab using RF, analog, and digital test equipment
- Assist with the creation and review of technical documentation and proposals
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Software, FPGA, Automated Test, Production to enable feature implementation, integration & debugging to develop new SDR products.
- Drive best practices on the team, deal with ambiguity and competing objectives, and proactively identify and mitigate risks before they become roadblocks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or higher in electrical or computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of direct experience developing real-world products from concept to release and after-sales support.
- Design experience in at least three areas such as RF circuits (LNAs, PAs, PLLs, matching, filters), power supplies, high-speed digital/FPGA systems, A/D and D/A converters, or embedded microcontrollers with standard interfaces.
- Experience with at least one schematic capture/PCB layout package (Altium Designer preferred)
- Experience with microwave test equipment such as vector network analyzers, power meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, noise sources, multimeter, and signal sources
- Able to work on US Government Contracts which requires U.S. citizenship
- Able to work both independently and as part of a cross-domain engineering team.
