Job Summary
The Accounting Manager will oversee the daily operations and continuous improvement of the company’s accounting and finance functions in a fast-growing international eCommerce environment.
This role requires a strong hands-on leader who can manage multi-entity, multi-currency accounting, ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, optimize internal controls, and support business growth through accurate reporting, automation, and process efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Payroll.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closings and prepare consolidated financial statements for multiple entities.
- Ensure all journal entries, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions are properly recorded and supported.
- Coordinate with external CPA firms for annual audit, income tax filing, and sales tax/VAT compliance.
- Maintain accurate and timely financial reports in accordance with U.S. GAAP and local statutory requirements.
Cost Accounting & Inventory Management
- Supervise inventory accounting, costing, and valuation across multiple sales channels and fulfillment centers.
- Work closely with Operations and Supply Chain teams to monitor landed costs, COGS, and inventory accuracy.
- Analyze inventory turnover, obsolescence, and margin performance to support business decisions.
Cash Management & Treasury
- Oversee daily cash flow management, bank reconciliations, and funding between entities.
- Manage foreign currency transactions, transfers, and exchange gain/loss recording.
- Develop short-term and long-term cash forecasts to support strategic planning.
Internal Control & Compliance
- Design and implement internal control procedures to ensure compliance and minimize financial risk.
- Review and document accounting processes, identify control gaps, and recommend process improvements.
- Support audit readiness and regulatory compliance across all jurisdictions.
Management Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly management reports and variance analyses (Budget vs. Actual).
- Generate KPIs, dashboards, and profitability reports to provide insight into business performance.
- Partner with other departments to improve financial transparency and decision-making.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline accounting processes and improve accuracy.
- Support ERP and BI tool integration (e.g., NetSuite, Power BI, or equivalent).
- Standardize accounting workflows and automation for scaling operations across global entities.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing training and performance feedback.
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and collaboration within the finance team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Hands-on experience with consolidated financial statements and intercompany reconciliations.
- Proficient in multi-entity, multi-currency accounting and international VAT/tax compliance.
- Experience with eCommerce platforms (Amazon, Walmart, Shopify) and ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general tax principles.
- Advanced Excel or Google sheet skills
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in cost accounting, inventory control, and logistics coordination.
- Background in process automation, ERP implementation, or system migration.
- Ability to manage both strategic planning and hands-on execution.
- Strong understanding of internal controls, audit preparation, and compliance requirements.
- Bi-lingual in Mandarin preferred.
- Experience with BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI).
