Responsibilities
- Safely collect blood samples via venipunctures, heel-sticks, and finger sticks.
- Ensure quality of blood samples and verify patient identification.
- Assure patient safety and comfort by following established standards.
- Adhere to Customer Service Excellence.
Qualifications
- Education and Work Experience:
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED
- Passed an accredited course including clinical experience or have 1 year of continuous phlebotomy experience
- License and Certification:
- Phlebotomy Certification preferred
- License Requirements: N/A
- Age and Care
- Age-specific care provided for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Computer proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Outlook
- Meditech and Epic (if applicable); Performance Manager/NetLearning
- Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly
- Ability to work independently and make independent decisions when warranted
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to function as a team player
- Flexibility, integrity, and ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Other Requirements
- Patient and customer relations, computer literacy
- Ability to perform venipuncture and process lab samples for in-house and reference lab testing
- Operate simple medical laboratory equipment (e.g., centrifuge)
