Responsibilities

• Safely collect blood samples via venipunctures, heel-sticks, and finger sticks.
• Ensure quality of blood samples and verify patient identification.
• Assure patient safety and comfort by following established standards.
• Adhere to Customer Service Excellence.

Qualifications

• Education and Work Experience:
  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED
  • Passed an accredited course including clinical experience or have 1 year of continuous phlebotomy experience
• License and Certification:
  • Phlebotomy Certification preferred
  • License Requirements: N/A
• Age and Care
  • Age-specific care provided for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Computer proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Outlook
  • Meditech and Epic (if applicable); Performance Manager/NetLearning
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly
  • Ability to work independently and make independent decisions when warranted
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to function as a team player
  • Flexibility, integrity, and ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Other Requirements
  • Patient and customer relations, computer literacy
  • Ability to perform venipuncture and process lab samples for in-house and reference lab testing
  • Operate simple medical laboratory equipment (e.g., centrifuge)
