Overview

The Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center is seeking a Physician Assistant focused on VA’s Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM). You will contribute to the lives of Veterans. Open & closing dates: 10/27/2025 to 11/05/2025. Location: Iron Mountain, MI. 3 vacancies. Full-time, permanent appointment. Work schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm. Travel: 25% or less as needed. Telework: not available. Remote job: No. Relocation: No. Duties

Clinical: Independent evaluation of Veterans through new patient intake, including prevention and patient self-management; provide comprehensive evaluations for male and female Veterans. Direct and manage referrals for clinical concerns identified during evaluations. Collaborate with Medical Staff and administrative/support teams to deliver timely, quality, coordinated care. Apply approved standards of care, safety protocols, and procedures in all settings; promote continuity of care with other health resources. Remain current with trends and skills; serve as a resource for the medical center staff; provide gender-specific primary care services. Informatics: Apply health informatics to advance VA goals, improve health IT systems usability and health care quality. Collaborate within VISN and national informatics programs to uphold healthcare standards across clinical domains. Enhance informatics competencies through required training; support clinical processes and data analysis with informatics products. Administrative: Assist with continuity of care across the VHA system; provide on-site leadership to ensure timely care. Participate in Quality Improvement activities and serve on medical center committees as assigned by CHIO. Education/Research: Maintain current knowledge of clinical care trends; participate in clinical research when appropriate; follow VA regulations for research. Work Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm. Contract Buy Out Program (CBOP):

Conditions of employment

Physician Assistant Basic Requirements Master’s degree in any discipline or a bachelor’s degree with one year of experience as a Physician Assistant Passing PA National Certifying Exam (PANCE) or in process to take it Full and unrestricted license to practice in a U.S. state/territory/DC Note:
