We are seeing a Manufacturing Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to join our team!
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for Accelevation’s Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs and ensuring compliance with environmental and occupational health regulations at Accelevation’s manufacturing facilities in Montgomery County, Ohio. (Occasional travel to support additional manufacturing facilities may be required.) The Manufacturing EHS Manager will participate in the development, implementation, and management of policies and programs that promote a safe and environmentally responsible workplace. This role involves identifying and mitigating potential risks and conducting training and inspections to minimize accidents, injuries, and health issues. This position will work as part of Accelevation’s Safety Team, reporting to our Head of Safety and working alongside Accelevation’s other EHS Managers and safety coordinators. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Understand and apply OSHA and EPA regulations as they apply to the workforce and workplace. Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions. Lead incident investigations to determine root causes, recommend preventive measures and ensure effective follow-up. Provide training and resources to employees to promote safe work practices and environmental awareness. Monitor environmental impacts, ensuring compliance with permits, waste disposal regulations, and emissions standards. Develop or update emergency response plans and lead emergency preparedness initiatives. Maintain accurate records and documentation consistent with established guidelines for regulatory reporting and internal audits. Collaborate with leadership to integrate EHS objectives into business strategies. Serve as subject matter expert when dealing with regulatory agencies, including site visits, inspections, and reporting requirements. Conduct employee safety meetings, toolbox talks, and educational workshops to maintain a culture of safety. Assist in managing return-to-work programs and modified duty assignments. Experience tracking and communicating Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). Occupational health experience including hearing conservation and respiratory protection program management, and medical and employee exposure record retention. Experience with various industrial hygiene strategies including noise exposure monitoring, air sampling, etc. Assist in the generation, application, and maintenance of safety programs throughout the facilities. Example programs include (but are not limited to) hazard communication, control of energy (lockout/tagout), fall protection, and machine guarding, forklift licensing, etc. Safe operation of powered industrial vehicles and mobile elevated work platforms, when required. Assist in the implementation of programs/initiatives (such as CANDO and ISO) throughout the organization. Other duties as assigned. Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience working in safety manager or assistant safety manager position in a manufacturing environment OR equivalent combination of education and experience. OSHA trainings/certificates OR formal higher education in Occupational Health, Safety or Environmental discipline required.
