Position Summary
Position Summary We are seeking a
Principal SAP TM Architect
to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of SAP Transportation Management solutions across our global logistics and supply chain network. This strategic role will define best-in-class SAP TM architecture focused on performance, scalability, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate brings deep functional and technical expertise in SAP TM and understands how to architect complex end-to-end transportation solutions that integrate seamlessly with S/4HANA and other SAP and non-SAP systems.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end architecture and solution design of SAP TM implementations and enhancements.
Partner with business and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, define roadmaps, and translate business needs into scalable SAP TM solutions.
Architect integrations between SAP TM, S/4HANA, EWM, and third-party logistics or carrier systems.
Provide expert-level guidance on SAP TM configuration, master data design, and freight order management (planning, execution, and settlement).
Define and enforce SAP best practices, standards, and governance across project lifecycles.
Act as a thought leader and subject matter expert (SME) in transportation planning, network design, and freight optimization.
Support project planning, estimation, and risk management while driving technical and process alignment.
Guide and mentor consultants and technical developers within the SAP TM practice.
Collaborate with SAP Basis, Integration, and Infrastructure teams on performance optimization and transport management.
Stay current with SAP TM roadmap, industry trends, and emerging logistics technologies (e.g., SAP BTP, AI/ML for route optimization, IoT for fleet visibility).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
10+ years of SAP experience, including 6+ years focused on SAP TM architecture and delivery.
Must be eligible to obtain a US security clearance.
Hands-on experience in SAP TM (S/4HANA embedded or standalone), including freight order management, charge management, and transportation planning and execution.
Strong understanding of end-to-end transportation and logistics processes (planning, tendering, execution, freight settlement, and analytics).
Experience integrating SAP TM with SAP EWM, SD, MM, FI, and third-party logistics systems.
Strong knowledge of SAP Activate and Agile/SaFe methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Travel up to 50%.
