NOTE: Role is on site at least 3 days per week in NYC, no sponsorship available, must be US Citizen or GC Holder. As a Cybersecurity Consultant, you will work closely with clients to assess, design, and implement robust cybersecurity strategies tailored to their unique needs. This role combines technical expertise, strategic consulting, and client engagement to deliver measurable improvements in security and operational resiliency. Responsibilities Perform in-depth cybersecurity assessments to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and opportunities for enhancement. Advise clients on industry best practices, frameworks, and regulatory requirements to elevate their security maturity. Design and implement tailored cybersecurity strategies aligned with business goals and evolving threat landscapes. Deploy and configure security technologies such as firewalls, SIEM solutions, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and encryption tools. Support clients in developing and testing incident response plans and processes. Assist with compliance initiatives, including GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, NIST, and other regulatory frameworks. Create security documentation, including policies, procedures, playbooks, and training materials. Stay ahead of emerging threats, technologies, and trends to provide cutting-edge recommendations. Provide security monitoring and reporting to enhance clients visibility and control. Collaborate with client stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and sustained cybersecurity improvements.
Qualifications
Experience : Minimum of 5 years in cybersecurity roles, with hands-on experience in functional consulting and design work. Proficiency in cloud security (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Strong experience with risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing. Hands-on knowledge of implementing and managing cybersecurity tools and platforms. Operational Resiliency : Proven experience in enhancing organizational resilience through cybersecurity strategies. Certifications : CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent certifications are highly desirable. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, thriving in high-pressure, fast-paced settings. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently. Deep knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, FIPS, PCI-DSS, NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls). Experience with threat modeling, risk analysis, and security automation/orchestration. Familiarity with secure SDLC and DevSecOps principles. Comfort working in collaborative, cross-functional, and client-driven environments.
