This opportunity is with OKX’s Legal team, specifically the Global Licensing group, and is based in San Jose, CA. The Deputy General Counsel will report to the Head of Global Licensing, who is based in the EU. About the Team

OKX’s Legal team provides legal advice across coverage areas and locations, supporting business growth by collaborating with all teams. The Global Regulatory Licensing team focuses on licensing strategy, regulatory engagement, and collaboration with business partners. What You’ll Be Doing

Lead the regulatory licensing process in specified jurisdictions and manage the Global Licensing Team to obtain key licenses, including coordinating with stakeholders across time zones. Manage external counsel. Conduct legal research into global crypto-regulations with outside counsel, evaluate OKX products and services against those laws, and provide a legal path forward. Advise on legal and regulatory aspects of the businesss regional strategy. Draft and revise application materials in collaboration with the Global Licensing Team and other business teams. Meet with regulators and other governmental bodies related to licensing efforts. Collaborate with product and business development teams to achieve company-wide projects and goals. Assist with civil, regulatory matters and supervise outside counsel as needed. Manage additional legal requests and advise on legal concepts and risk with an eye toward business goals. What We Look For In You

Active membership with a US state bar (CA or NY preferred), or equivalent. 12+ years of relevant regulatory licensing experience at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal team, preferably in financial services or a similarly regulated space. Experience managing teams and driving projects to completion on expedited timelines. Highly driven, proactive, responsive, and precise. Experience making strategic recommendations to senior management and senior legal team members. Comfortable navigating legal ambiguity. Enthusiasm for blockchain technology and understanding of the regulatory landscape. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, growth-stage, multi-cultural environment. Ability to advise and build trust with business teams. Project management experience with strong organizational skills. Nice to Have

The salary range for this position is $240,000 to $360,000, with offered compensation dependent on factors such as knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition to salary, a performance bonus and long-term incentives may be provided, along with a full range of medical and/or other benefits.
