We’re seeking a driven Test Engineer to design and develop hardware and software solutions that characterize and verify the performance of next-generation RF front-end modules, including filters, low-noise amplifiers (LNAs), and power amplifiers.
Responsibilities
Designs, develops, and implements cost-effective methods of RF characterization tests for Power Amplifiers, FEMs, and LNAs.
Automating rack-and-stack test setups in a characterization test environment.
Investigating and developing RF test solutions. In this role, the candidate will create test plans and automate scripting in SCPI/C++.
Evaluate test time and test cost reduction.
Investigate new and innovative test solutions. In this role, the candidate may evaluate new test equipment or test methods
Create test procedures and documentation for internal use.
Read and interpret technical documents, including schematics, data-sheets, and test procedures.
Perform data analysis and prepare reports using Excel or other tools.
Required Experience and Skills Successful candidates must possess a minimum of a BS degree + 1 years of working experience in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related science field. Ideal candidates should possess the skills below.
Experience with the use of RF test equipment, including
Spectrum Analyzers
Network Analyzers
Power meters
Signal Generators
Load-pull/Tuners
Experience testing GSM/EDGE/WCDMA/TD-SCDMA/TD-LTE/FDD-LTE/5GNR measurements at a system or component level is preferred.
Test automation using communication protocols including PXI, GPIB, USB, PCI, TCP-IP, RS232
Proficiency with any of the Microsoft Visual Studio programming languages, including C, C++, C#, Python, or LabVIEW
Must be proficient in MS Office tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Desired Experience and Skills Preferred Education, Experience & Capabilities:
Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals and methodologies, and logical thinking.
Excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
Coursework in control systems, signals, RF, and analog circuits.
Excellent ability to ask the right questions to troubleshoot and debug systems, circuits, and devices.
Meticulous technical documentation authoring and editing skills.
Driven to meet deadlines while held accountable to high-quality standards.
Positive attitude with a strong desire for customer and team success to maintain our winning culture.
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD$64,400 -$118,200 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
