Building Inspector
and ensure the safety and compliance of buildings in our community. In this role, you will perform inspections of new and existing structures, enforce building codes, and collaborate with property owners, contractors, and designers to uphold construction standards. Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with building codes and approved plans. Communicate code requirements to homeowners, contractors, and designers. Investigate complaints and enforce regulations as needed. Perform plan reviews and assist with special assignments. Supervise and mentor building inspectors. Qualifications
Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent; coursework in building code and related subjects beyond high school is desirable. Experience: Construction inspection experience required; at least two years of responsible municipal and building inspection preferred. License/Certificate Requirements: Due to the performance of some field duties, which may require the operation of a personal or City vehicle, a valid California Driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required. Certification by the International Code Council as a building inspector is highly desirable. Application & Selection Process
Applications will be screened carefully, and selected applicants will be invited to participate in the Structured Panel Interview. The appointing hiring authority will further review the job-related qualifications of those deemed eligible for hire before making selection decisions. The selection process may be modified based on the needs of the City. Pre-employment Process
