Overview
The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Sales will lead and oversee all revenue-generating activities for the Regional Sports Network (RSN), including linear TV, digital platforms, sponsorships, and integrated marketing partnerships. This executive-level role is responsible for setting the strategic direction, driving revenue growth, managing a high-performing sales team, and cultivating strong relationships with regional and national advertisers. The ideal candidate is a visionary sales leader with deep experience in media sales, sports sponsorships, and cross-platform monetization, who can thrive in a fast-paced, evolving media landscape. Responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to maximize revenue across all RSN assets (broadcast, digital, social, and experiential). Lead forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes for the sales organization. Identify new revenue opportunities and go-to-market strategies in response to shifts in the sports media ecosystem. Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing sales team across local, regional, and national markets. Establish performance metrics, KPIs, and incentive programs to drive accountability and results. Oversee and grow all advertising and sponsorship revenue streams. Cultivate strong relationships with key advertisers, agencies, and partners at the C-suite level. Champion the network’s brand, audience, and value proposition to clients. Collaborate closely with programming, production, digital, marketing, and research teams to create compelling sales packages and branded content opportunities. Work with finance and legal teams on pricing, contracts, and compliance matters. Leverage audience analytics, ratings data, and digital insights to inform strategy and optimize sales performance. Stay ahead of media trends, ad technologies, and industry innovations to enhance monetization capabilities. Qualifications
12+ years of progressive experience in media sales, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Deep understanding of the sports media landscape, including linear TV, digital streaming, OTT, and social media. Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and growing revenue across multiple platforms. Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams through strong leadership and exceptional communication skills, with a talent for crafting a compelling vision and inspiring others to achieve it. Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship management abilities. Existing network of advertising agency and brand contacts preferred. Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or a related field; MBA is a plus. Willingness to travel up to 20% as needed to support business operations, attend meetings, training, or events across locations. Preferred Experience
Experience working for or with a regional or national sports network Familiarity with regional advertising markets and local sponsorship opportunities.
