About the Role Barry Callebaut is a global organization poised for growth, committed to sustainability, innovation, and best‑in‑class manufacturing. The Food Safety Coordinator coordinates, executes, and implements key microbiology and food safety programs for the site, including Raw Material Sampling Plan, Finished Product Sampling Plan, Environmental Monitoring, and other food safety initiatives and certifications. The role supports the Quality Safety Manager and key functions in Quality and Supply Chain, interacting with all departments and levels of personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure GMP and food safety requirements and policies are implemented and respected.
Help maintain food safety programs (HACCP, Environmental Monitoring, Pest Management, Raw Material and Finished Product Sampling Plan) for the production facility.
Participate in third‑party (Customer, Regulatory) and internal audits (preparation and follow‑up as assigned).
Serve as Certified Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) verifier of records and help manage the HACCP plan and verification/validation of controls.
Execute EMP swabbing, material sampling, ATP cleaning effectiveness review.
Perform trending analysis and statistical data review to develop improvement plans (Environmental Monitoring Program, Pest Control, Sanitation).
Support the implementation of corrective actions associated with identified gaps (both internal and external).
Enter data into the Quality Module of SAP accurately and in a timely manner.
Issue Certificate of Analysis to customers and keep record of the history of recorded analysis results.
Manage customer documentation requirements for products supplied from the facility, including bills of lading, packing lists, delivery notes, and quality certificates.
Work closely with Supply Chain to ensure incoming ingredients, chemicals, and packaging materials are sampled, inspected, and approved for use in the plant.
Help organize and lead sensory panels.
About You
Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, or Chemistry.
At least 2 years of QA/QC experience in the food industry.
Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, Environmental Monitoring, and microbiological testing.
Quality System implementation experience a plus.
HACCP and PCQI certification a plus.
Knowledge and experience with GFSI audit schemes.
Excellent communication skills and a team player.
Strong leadership abilities.
Understanding of government regulations in relation to food processing.
Strong PC skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, Google Suite.
Willing to work weekend and evening shifts as required.
Must be willing to sensory test chocolate and raw ingredients, including milk and soy.
