Shriners Children’s Chicago offers specialized care for a wide range of pediatric orthopedic, bone and joint conditions, including rare diseases and syndromes. Other specialties include spine and scoliosis care, plastic surgery, cleft lip and palate care, comprehensive rehabilitation and spinal cord injuries.
Hours: The schedule for this PRN position will be a mix of day and night shift and will also include weekends.
Pay: $29.42/hour—$36.76/hour, determined by experience and departmental equity.
Responsibilities
Participate in daily planning via patient rounds.
Work as part of the interdisciplinary team for the plan of care for our burn and orthopedic patients.
Increase knowledge in burn and orthopedic care to improve outcomes for patients and families.
Engage in academic growth through participation in research projects.
Provide primary respiratory care to patients from admission through discharge under a physician's order.
Communicate verbal and/or written patient and departmental information/special needs to pertinent persons in a timely and appropriate manner (i.e., rounds).
Document accurate, specific, complete patient care data per policy and procedure guidelines.
Assure safe, cost‑effective operation and function of equipment and utilize appropriate infection control techniques in all areas.

Required Qualifications
Associate Respiratory Therapy degree
5 years RT experience in ICU setting
RRT certification
License in the state of Illinois
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Preferred Qualifications
2 years pediatric experience
