The Workday Technical Manager - Business Applications is responsible for the operation and maintenance of Hackensack Meridian Healths (HMH) hospital-wide information Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems network and all computer-based information systems. This hands?on position designs IT solutions that leverage existing organizational assets, follow enterprise business processes, and integrate into the current technology infrastructure to solve business problems. The manager leads IT projects from envisioning and design through development and deployment, ensuring alignment with architecture, timelines, and budgets. The Ideal Candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of in?depth experience in technology implementation and support, with at least three years in a managerial capacity, along with the following: Knowledge of Project Management/Methodology, Time Management, Resource Management. Knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).

Responsibilities

A day in the life of the Workday Technical Manager - Business Applications at Hackensack Meridian Health includes: Assisting in the implementation of the HMH hospital-wide information system network in accordance with the Information Technology Strategic Plan. Working with IT Management to establish technology effectiveness, identify problems, and implement corrective actions and system improvements. Establishing and maintaining standards for system selection, testing of related software and hardware, and developing operational procedure manuals. Ensuring accuracy, integrity, and security of systems maintained on the information network. Managing ERP applications supporting Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, Accounting, Materials Management and Supply Chain, and other systems such as Lawson, Kronos, Clairvia, Scheduling, KABA B-Comm, IVR, PeopleSoft, MySuccess, E-Learning, ICIMS, @PAR, GHX, and Phire. Managing Oracle application development and maintenance (e.g., Time and Labor, Absence Management, E-Compensation, Position Management, PeopleSoft AP Check Printing, Financial Consolidation, E-Benefits, Benefits Administration, User Productivity Kit, PeopleSoft Testing Tool, Employee Self Service and Manager Self Service). Managing business automation, vendor interfaces, EDI Integration and Epic Integration. Staying abreast of industry trends and recommending enhancements of technology and systems capabilities. Designing, developing, implementing and enforcing a framework of IT best practices aligned with HMH core goals and strategy. Working with departments to gather requirements, selecting technologies, and identifying products that integrate with the existing IT infrastructure. Preparing weekly, monthly, and as?requested activity reports on unit activities, project status, and schedules for management and users. Providing weekly project status reports to all stakeholders. Using multiple technologies to solve problems and provide metrics and measurements. Linking HMH mission, strategy, and processes to its IT strategy, documenting models or views to ensure future sustainability and adaptability. Making trade?off decisions to keep solutions on target as projects progress. Reviewing research and forming strategies on new technology trends and architecture. Understanding project and solution life cycles and determining how solutions will be managed through and after deployment. Quickly learning and applying new technologies to modify frameworks and business processes. Demonstrating technical skills and persuading staff regarding solution validity and approach. Collaborating with other Managers and Team Leaders in IT to review projects, manage the Change Management process, identify resources, assign tasks, and coordinate schedules. Recruiting, managing, coaching, mentoring and developing a proactive, service?oriented team of direct reports. Ensuring project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately. Managing business automation, including paperless workflows and barcode scanning. Managing the change management process to comply with annual external audit requirements. Negotiating Hardware and Software License Agreements, such as Oracle. Maximizing effectiveness of installed business systems before introducing new technologies. Other duties and/or projects as assigned. Adhering to HMH's Managerial competencies and behavior standards.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Bachelors degree in Information Technology or Healthcare, or a minimum of 8 years of PeopleSoft project and people leadership experience. Minimum of 8 years of in?depth experience in technology implementation and support, with at least three years in a managerial capacity. Understanding of technologies and processes such as Applications, Client and Server Hardware, Intranet/Extranet/Internet applications, Databases, Networking, IT Operations, IT Security, HIPAA, and Remote Access. Strong knowledge of Client/Server technology and its use within business applications. Knowledge of Service?Oriented and Enterprise Architecture frameworks. Knowledge of Project Management/Methodology, Time Management, Resource Management. Knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle). Knowledge of MS Project for Gantt Charts, Resource Tracking and Project Timelines. Knowledge of MS Visio for Workflows and DFD (Data Flow Diagrams) and System Diagrams. Experience in preparing annual IT budgets. Prior supervisory/management experience. Good judgment in making decisions related to technical and/or application issues. Ability to proactively recommend technical/application solutions using technical knowledge necessary to effectively manage resources. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly articulate information to end users.

Education, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Preferred Fifteen (15) or more years of PeopleSoft functional HR, Finance or Campus Solutions experience managing multiple projects and people, and driving operational efficiency. Experience managing one or more modules in a PeopleSoft 9.x environment, including HCM, FCM, or project Campus Solutions. Significant experience leading large, complex projects in a matrixed organization.

Starting at $153,732.80 Annually. HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members. The posted rate of pay is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act and does not reflect the full value of our market?competitive total rewards package. Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in relevant skills and competencies. Geographic Location: Cost of living and market rates for the specific location. Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the organization. Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.

Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
