My client is a nationally recognized
Data Center
owner/developer with sites across the US including Texas, Chicago and California. They are looking for an experienced data center Senior Project Manager to lead large‑scale data center construction and development on a 600MW campus in Austin, Texas.
With 10+ years in the industry, the firm has completed over 3 million sq. ft. of data center projects and specialises in hyperscale, colocation, and cloud solutions.
This is a rare leadership opportunity to shape the business through project execution across design, construction, and commissioning phases.
The role offers a long‑term 1099 contract of up to four years, with the opportunity to transition into a full‑time position as the project pipeline grows.
Responsibilities
Lead end‑to‑end management of major
data center
development projects from early planning through delivery and turnover
Oversee internal project managers and consultants; assign responsibilities and ensure accountability
Serve as the day‑to‑day lead for internal development stakeholders, external consultants, and construction partners
Drive alignment across leasing, design, construction, and finance throughout the project lifecycle
Prepare and deliver regular reports to leadership team and investors on budget, schedule, and delivery risk
Direct mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) buildout strategy, including QA/QC, commissioning, and integration with base building delivery
Manage turnover process from construction to operations, ensuring compliance with the firm’s technical and operational standards
Coordinate with the Development team to define project scope, planning goals, and budget thresholds
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in
data center development, construction, or delivery
Experience with MEP intensive scopes
Strong understanding of data center systems
Familiarity working with municipalities, utilities, and permitting authorities
Recent GC background with strong field leadership and project controls
Demonstrated ability to manage complex budgets and vendor contracts
BA in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred
OSHA30 certification preferred
