JOB PURPOSE
This role combines engineering precision, commercial acumen, and innovation to deliver operationally feasible, cost‑effective, and sustainable solutions for new and existing customers across the global DP World network. The Solutions Engineer – Contract Logistics will play a pivotal role in designing winning, customer‑centric logistics solutions that strengthen DP World’s market leadership in integrated supply chain services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Solution Design & Business Winning
Lead the design of end‑to‑end warehouse and distribution solutions for customer RFQs, bids, and renewals.
Translate customer requirements into optimized layouts, process flows, storage strategies, and automation concepts.
Develop compelling solution narratives and data‑backed value propositions that position DP World as the logistics partner of choice.
Support business development teams with engineering models, costing, and technical content that enhance bid competitiveness and win rate.
Partner closely with Operations, Commercial, and IT to ensure designs are implementable, scalable, and aligned with DP World standards.
Build detailed models to analyze order profiles, SKU velocity, throughput, and other parameters.
Create 3D and AutoCAD layouts illustrating optimal space design, MHE zoning, and picking strategies.
Assess automation and technology enablers (e.g., AMRs, AS/RS, robotic picking, conveyors) for business cases that drive long‑term value.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to ensure designs deliver expected ROI and KPIs.
Collaborate with engineering, automation, and operations teams to benchmark and replicate best practices.
Work with Finance and Procurement to define accurate cost‑to‑serve models, capex estimates, and supplier comparisons.
Represent the technical function in customer presentations, solution walkthroughs, and bid reviews to communicate DP World’s engineering credibility and value.
Support implementation handover to ensure smooth operational start‑up and design integrity.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, supply chain, or a related discipline.
1‑2 years of warehouse‑related engineering experience in 3PL, solution design, warehouse engineering, or supply chain optimization.
Strong expertise in MS Office Suite (incl. Visio), AutoCAD/SketchUp/Twin Motion or similar layout and flow design tools.
Exposure to warehouse operations/engineering within Tech, Consumer, FMCG, Retail, or E‑commerce sectors.
Bilingual (English, Spanish, Portuguese, French) – preferred.
Lean Six Sigma/Green Belt certification is an advantage.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

ABOUT THE ROLE – HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
Design and implement supply chain solutions from large scale geographical optimisation down to small scale process and line station design.
Work closely with Business Development/Account Management, Launch and Operational teams to develop and implement solutions for new and existing business.
Facilitate the application of lean principles and tools (5S, value stream mapping, pull systems, etc.) and recommend improvements.
Assist with ongoing development and enhancement of standardised engineering tools and methods.
Direct implementation of work standards through time studies and accepted methods.
Make informed recommendations on capital equipment purchase or lease, manage project engineering equipment budget, and report status to Project Manager and Launch team.
Develop concepts for formal customer proposals, including process flow diagrams, KPIs, and facility layouts.
Initiate pricing processes, align financial implications, and review customer‑specific pricing models for profitability.
Participate in recruitment interviews, training, and Ongoing support of plant and corporate resources.
Other duties as assigned.
YOUR KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Research, or related fields.
Experience in solutions design/development within warehousing, logistics, supply chain, or industrial engineering services industries.
Highly developed computer skills – Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, Visio) and project management software; proficiency in building relational databases and using AutoCAD.
Knowledge of network design/simulation software, e.g., CAST, Supply Chain Guru.
Ability to conceptualise existing operations and innovative solution designs from datasets and determine improvement opportunities.
Strong communication skills and ability to work with customers.
Ability to travel 15%.
