Assistant Project Manager – North Branch Construction This role serves as project support by planning, organizing, and implementing project management principles. The position must demonstrate an understanding of how the business runs, how to handle changing circumstances, and who to contact when there are questions. It encompasses cross‑functional communication with a key focus on prioritization, organization, and critical thinking. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. The role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, meet deadlines, and anticipate and meet internal customer needs.
Responsibilities and Duties
Review project specifications and plans; create project description and initial bid list to meet project specifications.
Manage bid delivery system and perform bid invite follow‑up calls to subcontractors and vendors.
Provide takeoff support and specific product pricing.
Obtain building permit fee schedule, review permit requirements, prepare permit documents for submission of building permit applications.
Research specialty subcontractors as needed for specific projects.
Provide Project Managers with Bid Day Support: subcontractor bid comparisons, calling subcontractors and vendors, bid submission package.
Using AIA template create and modify contracts and prepare bonds and insurance documentation.
Prepare meeting schedules and agendas for startup, kickoff, pre‑job planning, distribution lists, and reinstallation meetings in various project software.
Support document management to include submittal log establishment and upload, plans and specs upload and review, etc.
Support submittal reviews and submissions specific to DFH, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, electrical and specialty items.
Buyout of specialty items for project specific requirements.
Subcontract writing, division specific.
Distribution of purchase orders to Superintendent. Obtain purchase order review and approval from Superintendents for project specific.
Write owner change proposals.
Owner billing preparation (transfers/PCI’s/OCO’s) and billing package assembly.
Work with Project Managers and Business Development team to advance NBC’s business development with architects, clients and subcontractors.
Perform other duties as directed by the Executive Director of Project Management.
Write subcontractor change orders.
Requirements
Possess solid data‑entry, organization, and verbal/written communication skills.
Must possess the ability to move from concept to finished documentation independently.
Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co‑workers or supervisors with other duties as requested.
Understanding of project drawings and specifications.

Education
At least 3 years in construction management/coordination or a similar role within the construction industry. Construction Management degree preferred.
