Senior Associate – Forensic and Valuation Services Group
Withum is a place where talent thrives. We are looking for a Senior Associate to join our Corporate Value Consulting Team. The role focuses on supporting lender services valuations, primarily for the SBA 7(a) loan program.
Responsibilities
Work with lenders to provide valuation services for small businesses.
Value small businesses under the SBA 7(a) loan program.
Improve valuation processes and prepare reports, letters and other deliverables.
Perform macroeconomic and industry research.
Review agreements, documents, research papers and market research to extract key modeling drivers.
Understand and apply tax and financial reporting guidance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, accounting, or a related quantitative discipline.
2‑4 years of experience providing valuation services to lenders for small business transactions.
Experience valuing small businesses for SBA 7(a) loans.
Experience performing valuations for financial reporting purposes (ASC 805, ASC 305, ASC 820, ASC 718) preferred.
Strong understanding of equity valuation methods: discounted cash flow, market multiple, market transaction, and option pricing.
Proficient in financial statement analysis and business tax return preparation.
Progress toward external designations such as CFA, CVA, CPA/ABV, or ASA a plus.
Strong quantitative and economic analysis skills.
Advanced Excel skills.
Ability to work independently and mentor junior staff.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Compensation & Benefits Base compensation varies by location. For example: California – $70,000 to $100,000; NYC – $70,000 to $100,000; Illinois – $70,000 to $100,000; Maryland – $70,000 to $100,000; Massachusetts – $70,000 to $100,000; New Jersey – $70,000 to $100,000; Rhode Island – $70,000 to $100,000; Washington – $70,000 to $100,000.
