About Milli by Metric: Milli is an all‑day café, bakery, wine bar, and retail space created by the team behind Metric Coffee. Rooted in curiosity, craftsmanship, and care, Milli brings coffee, food, wine, and community together under one roof. From sourdough bread and house pastries to specialty coffee and curated wines, every detail celebrates craft while fostering a warm, playful hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

Train, mentor, and inspire FOH staff—especially baristas—to deliver consistent, high‑quality service.

Provide encouragement and constructive feedback to foster growth and accountability.

Lead by example in shaping Milli’s work culture, rooted in hospitality, professionalism, and care.

Play a key leadership role in the rollout of Milli’s lunch and dinner program, ensuring front‑of‑house readiness, team training, and a seamless transition from day to evening service.

Partner closely with ownership and the culinary team to align service style, pacing, and guest experience across all dayparts.

Operations Management

Oversee all daily café functions, including service flow, staff scheduling, inventory management, and POS accuracy.

Support workflow development to keep operations smooth and efficient.

Collaborate with ownership and culinary leadership to implement new menus and seasonal offerings.

Customer Experience

Ensure every guest receives warm, attentive service that embodies Milli’s values.

Uphold our passion for coffee excellence and hospitality, creating an atmosphere where guests feel both welcome and cared for.

Handle guest feedback and resolve service issues with professionalism.

Culture & Community

Contribute to the ongoing development of Milli’s hospitality methodologies.

Support the broader leadership team in growing Milli’s brand, events, and retail footprint.

Embody and promote our vision: a space where precision and play coexist.

Qualifications

3+ years of hospitality management experience in cafés, restaurants, or similar environments.

Proven track record of leading and developing teams in high‑volume service settings.

Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Deep knowledge of specialty coffee and familiarity with wine and bakery operations (preferred but not required).

Ability to balance business metrics (labor, sales, cost control) with a culture of care.

Illinois BASSET and Food Manager certification (or willingness to obtain).
