JR101246**Job Description Summary:**Aviagen Turkeys in Lewisburg, WV is looking for a Rearing Farms – Assistant Farm Lead to work on various farms in the Greenbrier and Monroe counties.**Job Description:****Employees cannot own poultry or swine.****Must undergo a criminal background check and pass a drug test (excluding THC)****Duties:** The following duties will vary according to the needs of the department* Perform day to day activities to ensure the health and well being of the flock.* Maintain and operate water, feed, and ventilation systems and manage litter conditions* Implement biosecurity programs as specified.* Assess the environmental conditions daily and take corrective action where needed.* Identify and report changes in bird behavior such as activity, appearance, appetite and mortality.* Maintain facilities according to company guidelines.* Properly maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.* Maintain fences, buildings and equipment, landscaping, safety equipment and other equipment used on the site.* Maintain dark-out integrity of barns.* Ensure shower areas, laundry, breakroom and entry building and storage areas are clean and organized.* Communicate with Rearing Farms Manager to ensure facility maintenance and farm cleanout activities are conducted in a timely and adequate manner.* Maintain farm and flock records* Accurately document and communicate inventories of feed, birds, LP gas, bagged shavings, and other supplies on a timely basis.* Maintain and update Flock Activity Schedule.* Ensure accurate Pen ID is maintained.* Other duties as deemed necessary by manager.**Requirements:*** Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, and be on call in emergency situations.* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.* Ability to work independently and complete assignments with minimal instruction.* Flexibility and creativity to deal with changing situations with an aim to improve flock health and performance.* Comply with Company Bio-Security Rules and Health, Safety and Environmental Policies, Animal Welfare Policies and all other Procedures and Standards.* Good communication skills.* Mechanical skills and computer experience a plus.* Cannot own or poultry or swine.We play a leading role in feeding the world's future generations.
