Position Summary
The Marketing and Events Coordinator enhances Mission Lexington’s visibility, partnerships, and engagement through the coordination of outreach programs, community events, and communications. This position serves as a visible representative of Mission Lexington at events and community gatherings. This position collaborates with churches, businesses, civic organizations, and other partners to strengthen mission-aligned relationships while helping to plan, execute, and promote community initiatives and fundraising events.
Key Responsibilities Community & Partner Engagement
Support member churches, businesses, civic organizations, and local partners to build strong, mission-aligned relationships.
Foster and maintain communication with community organizations to articulate current needs, service impact, and opportunities for support.
Represent Mission Lexington at community events, meetings, and speaking engagements to elevate awareness and encourage involvement.
Program & Event Support
Assist in coordinating and executing community outreach programs and events.
Support daily operations and behind-the-scenes tasks for outreach initiatives.
Serve as a familiar and approachable representative of Mission Lexington at events.
Communications & Marketing
Assist with newsletters, campaign messaging, annual reports, and donor communications through Mailchimp.
Track and manage insights to ensure accurate reporting and identify opportunities for growth.
Develop promotional materials, including brochures, one-pagers, direct mail, event collateral, and media resources.
Manage ordering, shipping, and tracking of outreach materials.
Fundraising & Campaign Support
Coordinate and promote public engagement around Mission Lexington’s signature events and campaigns (e.g., Spring Concert, Circle of Hope Gala, Midlands Gives).
Support visibility efforts for special projects and community engagement opportunities.
Data & Reporting
Track communications, outreach activities, and relationship management efforts using platforms such as Bloomerang.
Maintain accurate reporting of community engagement activities and results.
Qualifications
Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and projects.
Experience in administrative or clerical roles; nonprofit experience preferred.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Willingness and ability to speak publicly about Mission Lexington.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Mailchimp, and basic communications platforms.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Work Schedule Full-time, following the core hours established in Mission Lexington’s Hours of Work policy (generally 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday). Additional time may be required for meetings, events, or operational needs consistent with exempt status.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. as needed.
Ability to travel locally for events, outreach activities, and community meet
