Heath Church of Christ is a growing church in central Ohio (about 30 minutes east of Columbus). We are praying that God would send the right person to help us in our mission to love God, love people, and make disciples alongside our Birth‑4th Grade children and their families!

Position Summary The Children’s Director provides vision, leadership, and coordination for the spiritual formation of children from birth through 4th grade. This role ensures a safe, engaging, and biblically sound environment where children and families are nurtured in faith, equipped for discipleship, and encouraged to participate fully in the life of the church.

Primary Responsibilities Teaching & Discipleship

Oversee curriculum selection, preparation, and teaching strategies for all children’s classes (newborn–4th grade).

Provide age‑appropriate Bible teaching, worship, and activities that build a strong spiritual foundation.

Partner with parents to equip them as the primary spiritual leaders of their children.

Leadership & Volunteer Development

Recruit, train, and support teachers, volunteers, and helpers.

Build a healthy team culture that values encouragement, accountability, and spiritual growth.

Provide regular training and resources for children’s ministry workers.

Administration & Organization

Develop and oversee weekly programming, special events, Vacation Bible School, and seasonal activities.

Manage ministry budget, supplies, and classroom resources.

Implement safety and security policies to protect children and volunteers.

Communication & Collaboration

Maintain regular communication with parents, families, staff, and church leadership.

Coordinate with other ministry areas (youth, worship, outreach, etc.) for church‑wide unity.

Provide reports and updates to elders or supervising minister as requested.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Christian Education, Ministry, Child Development, or related field (preferred).

Minimum 2–3 years of experience in children’s ministry or equivalent (volunteer leadership may be considered).

Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills.

Ability to connect with children and families in a warm, approachable, and caring manner.

Commitment to ongoing spiritual and professional growth.
