About The Role Callen‑Lorde Community Health Center is seeking a collaborative and mission‑driven Associate Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) to join our leadership team. The ACMO supports the Chief Medical Officer in overseeing clinical operations, optimizing provider performance, and advancing quality, patient‑centered care across our network. This key leadership role bridges clinical practice and executive strategy—working closely with department directors, practice managers, and quality teams to ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in access, efficiency, and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily clinical operations to ensure effective scheduling, patient flow, and provider productivity.
Monitor and analyze performance metrics to drive improvements in access, efficiency, and quality of care.
Ensure compliance with Article 28, HRSA, HIPAA, and other regulatory standards.
Support Quality Improvement and Assurance programs, audits, and corrective action planning.
Provide leadership and supervision to clinical directors and department managers, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
Partner with executive leadership to align staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation with strategic goals.
Implement new clinical programs and process improvements that enhance patient experience and care delivery.
Maintain limited clinical practice and represent the organization in internal and external collaborations.
Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
Valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine in New York State.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Primary Care or a related specialty.
Minimum of 7 years of clinical experience and 3‑5 years in a leadership or administrative role.
Demonstrated experience in clinical operations, quality improvement, and workflow optimization.
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and problem‑solving skills; proficiency in data‑driven decision‑making and use of electronic health records (EHR).
