Full-time, Hourly – non-exempt Hours:
Normal Office Hours – Sunday 6:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Objective:
Assist the Facilities Department with taking care of all aspects of the Church facilities with an emphasis on
Janitorial. RESPONSIBILITIES Adhere to policies and procedures as outlined in the REDEMPTION employee handbook; Take shared responsibility for accomplishing the vision of REDEMPTION and the Facilities Department Strive to display professionalism and moral conduct becoming of a church environment. Use detailed and professional communication in all areas Attend all mandatory Staff events and meetings required by leadership of Redemption.
JANITORIAL DUTIES
Cleaning:
Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing floors, surfaces, and fixtures. Trash Removal:
Collecting and disposing of trash and recycling properly. Restroom Maintenance:
Cleaning, sanitizing, and restocking restrooms. General Cleaning:
Cleaning windows, walls, glass, and other surfaces. Minor Repairs:
Performing basic repairs like changing light bulbs or unclogging toilets. Stocking:
Maintaining and stocking cleaning supplies. Reporting Issues:
Identifying and reporting any maintenance issues or safety hazards. Equipment Operation:
Operating cleaning equipment like vacuums, scrubbers, and polishers, etc. as well has maintaining the upkeep of equipment used.
MAINTENANCE DUTIES:
Building Repairs:
Assist with a ddressing minor to moderate building repairs.
Equipment Maintenance:
Ensuring that cleaning equipment, tools, and machinery are in good working order. Preventive Maintenance:
Performing regular checks and upkeep on building systems and equipment to prevent larger issues. Safety Inspections:
Conducting safety checks and reporting any hazards or needed repairs. Scheduling Maintenance/ Janitorial:
Coordinating and/or executing projects or repairs.
Inventory Management:
Maintaining personal use inventory of building supplies, safety supplies,cleaning supplies, and equipment.
MINISTRY/EVENT SUPPORT
Set-up/breakdown chairs for special room-configurations requested by ministries and indicated on the weekly schedule Prepare sanctuary and baptistery for scheduled Baptism Help in set-up for major, church-wide events Assist with set-up for meeting and Bible Studies as requested Ensure the church is prepared for worship (chairs, room temperature, signage as needed, etc.) As needed, be on site to assist with facility needs for special events (wedding, rentals, etc.) Ensure building is prepared for funerals, repasts and burials
Coordinate and organize projects and work requests via organizational wide systems, such as Asana, Microsoft Office Suite, and any other applications that are beneficial to the success of the Facilities team. Requirements
K NOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION Ability to complete basic furniture assembly Experience with plumbing, painting, electrical, carpentry and general handyman work is greatly encouraged Proficiency with email, verbal and written communication Ability to lift at least 50lbs Stand for extended period of time Ability to climb ladders, reach, bend, and lift Must have valid drivers license Proven track record of problem solving and employer relations Demonstrates efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload Ability to handle multiple projects effectively Ability to manage a professional relationship with maintenance technicians and support the department in all areas needed. Ability to relate well with pastoral staff, ministry leaders, co-workers, volunteers, visitors, outside vendors and members.
